Some 10 animated films are screened at Ammar Filmfest

More than 10 animations have been screened at the fourth day of Ammar Popular Film Festival.

More than 10 animations have been screened at the fourth day of the Ammar Popular Film Festival in Iran.

Renowned Iranian animated movie ‘Battle of the Persian Gulf’ directed by Farhad Azima was one of the animations that were screened at the event.

“An Iranian film shows the US Navy being destroyed by missiles in the [Persian] Gulf, tearing American flags from their masts,” a Western media outlet wrote about the animation, adding a film’s character inspired by Major General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, “leads a single vessel against… American warships.”

The Ammar Popular Film Festival goes against promotion of “individualism and extreme enjoyment without caring about the society's troubles and other human suppression,” the event’s official website noted.

The festival also enjoys an international version (AIPFF), which aims “to raise real awareness and responsibility among the general public,” the AIPFF website read, adding, "the event’s mission is to create an atmosphere in which independent filmmakers and thinkers can gather together."

The 8th edition of the festival is underway from December 27, 2017, to January 5, 2018, in Tehran.
